Created by filmmaker, author, and board game creator Allen Wolf, JabberJot won 10 awards and was named “10 Best Games” by Dr. Toy. A “laugh-out-loud storymaking game,” JabberJot sold out two years ago and a campaign for an updated version launched on Kickstarter May 1.

For Immediate Release

Seattle, WA –Filmmaker and author Allen Wolf’s love for stories is what inspired him to create JabberJot, an award-winning storymaking game where players race against the timer to create stories using words, pictures, and a theme, all of which are different for each round. Wolf originally got the idea while training with the Groundlings Improv School in Los Angeles where he was continually creating different characters and scenarios. In the JabberJot game, players win points when they fit all the elements into their story, and they win another point when the Jabber chooses their story as the favorite.

“Every time I play JabberJot, I laugh a lot and I also experience a burst of creativity as I thread together stories and hear what the other players have written,” Wolf says. “When JabberJot sold out two years ago, I started to think about what I would improve about the game. I’m excited to launch the campaign to fund this new-and-improved version of JabberJot.”

For this edition, Allen has updated the pictures, created new ways to win, and shrunk the packaging to make it eco-friendly. About JabberJot, Dr. Toy wrote, “This game will help your child improve vocabulary and creative-writing skills, turn visual images and words into stories while engaging in endless imagination.” The National Parenting Center called JabberJot, “One of the most imaginative games we have ever seen. Requires players to bring a sense of fun, silliness, and creativity to the table. Perfect for large groups at a party or a quiet family game night with as few as four players, JabberJot keeps the action moving and the wild storylines flowing. You will laugh, groan, and smile as you Jabber and Jot.”

People who make pledges to the Kickstarter campaign have a variety of rewards to choose from. They can receive games for themselves or donate games to underprivileged schools or an organization of their choice. Other levels of support allow people to appear in the game or even have game creator Allen Wolf appear at a school or game party to teach the game. The new version of JabberJot will be manufactured if the campaign reaches its funding goal by May 30. To make a pledge, visit PlayJabberJot.com.
