It Started with a Gift

Filmmaker and Author Allen Wolf launched Morning Star Games with the creation of his first game, Truth or Fib? in 2003 as a gift for a good friend to help him get to know his girlfriend better. They both loved the game and eventually get married.

Allen shared his game with other friends who wanted a copy for themselves, so Allen published Truth or Fib? so people everywhere could get to know each other better.

More Games were Created

Truth or Fib? won many awards, and Allen renamed the game to You’re Pulling My Leg! when the next version debuted in 2005. As Allen’s games grew in popularity, he continued to introduce more games that were quick to learn and easy to play. Next was a junior version of You’re Pulling My Leg!, then Pet Detectives, and JabberJot. Allen’s games continued to win awards and captured the imaginations of game players around the world. In 2006, Allen published Slap Wacky.

Together, Allen’s films won 38 awards, and Morning Star Games was named the “Best Toy Line” by Parent to Parent.

Morning Star Games was chosen as the Best Toy Line based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our Family Testers. The games provide hours of fun and surpass our tough testing criteria. They challenge memory skills and encourage abstract reasoning, logical thinking, and strategy. Our Family Testers also appreciated the intellectual stimulation, play, and laughter which are hallmarks of Morning Star Games. Beyond the Games

A few years later, Allen’s games appeared in his first feature film, In My Sleep, which he wrote, directed, and produced. You can watch the movie on Amazon Tubi, iTunes, and wherever movies are available. The games continued to be enjoyed by thousands around the world while Allen worked as a storyteller. His first novel, Hooked, debuted in 2015 and garnered multiple awards. You’re Pulling My Leg! appears in the novel as well. The book was adapted into a motion picture that will debut in late 2020.

New Direction

In 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Allen realized how important it was for people to find safe ways to connect with each other and have fun. So, he transformed You’re Pulling My Leg!, You’re Pulling My Leg! Junior, and JabberJot into games contained entirely within books that can be played in person or over a video call. The You’re Pulling My Leg! books were released on June 2, 2020, with plans for JabberJot to debut in August. Allen’s hope is for his games to bring people joy and greater connection during these trying times.

Allen lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two kids. He loves hearing people’s life stories, tasting chocolate, and traveling to Disneyland where he has been over 500 times. Visit AllenWolf.com to learn more about Allen.
