You've played the basic game, now try these wacky variations!
"JABBER ME" For a wider range of wacky stories, let all players be jabbers. All jabbers choose a challenge card, pictures and word tiles themselves. Jabbers will want to keep their words and pictures secret so no one can guess their identity. When time is up, players hand their stories to a designated reader. Change readers for each round. After all the stories are read out loud, each person votes for his or her favorite story. The player winning the most votes keeps his or her challenge card. If there is a tie, the player acting as the reader for that round casts the tie-breaking vote.
"JABBER WILD" In this variation, the jabber picks the challenge card and pictures but not the word tiles. Instead, each player chooses 10 word tiles. When the timer begins, players arrange some or all of their own word tiles to form a sentence to describe something about any of the three pictures or the theme.
When time is up, each player writes out his or her sentence and hands it to the reader. Players may add to a word or change its tense but may not add any additional words. Don't worry about the sentences making sense because they probably won't! But they will be hilarious. After the reader reads each sentence, the jabber chooses the one he or she likes the best and awards that player the challenge card. This variation is a lot of fun and very challenging.
"JABBER MIX-IT-UP" Want to mix up the way the game is played? You can choose to have players pick their own word tiles or decide the winner with a group vote. You can also drop the theme and let players come up with their own themes. Or the jabber can make up a theme. You can also limit the cards included in a round to one or two to simplify the game. There are a number of ways to make the game even more wacky - feel free to try something out! The combination of cards and words you can choose are virtually limitless so you'll be able to have hilarious fun for hours on end!
PLAYING WITH THE TIMER (Optional)
To speed up the game, you can use the 1 minute timer to give each Storyteller 1 minute to begin his/her story OR 1 minute to tell his/her story. If Storyteller does not do so, he/she gives 1 token point to the Bank and is read a new question.
PLAYING IN TEAMS (Optional)
If playing in teams, each team begins with 7 token points and each member takes turns being Storyteller. All team members may contribute to the story, discuss whether another Storyteller is telling the TRUTH or PULLING YOUR LEG and decide their final bet as a team.
